First Grade Class Project: "Honolua Bay"
We all know Ms Thomas loves turtles and we all love Maui. Twenty-two sea turtles, each representing a child from the 1st grade class, make this mosaic mirror a masterpiece to put above your fireplace. Artist Sylvia Simmons, from Santa Maria, California, created this spectacular piece. Honolua Bay in Maui is a marine life preserve where the ocean is sparkling blue, is abundant with Sea Turtles, and is surrounded by fragrant hibiscus flowers. Included with this piece of art is a book made by the students of 1st grade called "Honolua Bay". Each child has written why they would like to be a sea turtle and what they would look like. You will feel like you are on vacation each time you look at "Honolua Bay".
